Message « replace lamp » on the projector screen: how to remove it?
Question from customers
Hello,
After replacing the lamp in my projector with a new lamp projector, the message « replace lamp » does not disappear from the screen. I reset the counter but it did not resolve the problem.
Thank you in advance for your advice and help.
Best regards.
Answer from justprojectorlamps.co.uk
Hello,
Indeed, when a lamp reaches the end of its life, the projector displays a message on the screen « replace lamp ». Replacement of the lamp should hide this message. Otherwise, reset the counter is always necessary after each installation of a new lamp projector.
There are two very important cases that could trigger this warning message:
First, in some situations, the lamp operates with a low voltage, so it does not work correctly. It is sometimes happened during the first few hundred hours and is considered like a failure of the lamp. In this condition, the warning message will disappear if the voltage reaches the minimum value required for its operation.
It may also be that the ballast is too hot. This may alarm all the system but the message should disappear in a few minutes.
It is important to know that, usually, this message appears only when the estimated life for the lamp is reached. This does not always mean that the lamp reaches its end of life; it is possible that the lamp is still working up to several hours after the appearance of this message, but it is possible that it does not reach the estimated duration. There is still the risk of damage for the device at anytime because the lamp may explode in the projector if you continue to use it beyond this period, so it is an option that is not recommended. For some projectors, there is no message on the screen but there is a flashing yellow light on the projector which indicates that the lifetime limit is reached for the lamp. It also means that we must « immediately » change the lamp of the projector.
In any case, the message or signal should disappear after replacing the projector lamp and after resetting the counter. Otherwise, you have a technical problem with your projector or at your projector lamp to be solved with your supplier or repairer.
