Lifespan: how to lengthen the lifespan of the lamp
The average lifespan of a lamp is 2000 hours.
Justprojectorlamps recommends you do not touch the lamp with your fingers and use a piece of cloth to manipulate it. Fingermarks on the surface of the lamp can provoke overheating of the lamp in these places, provoking a premature breakdown.
Switch off your projector using the remote control and not using the on/off switch or by disconnecting the projector. The projector goes on to stand-by, the image disappears and the ventilator accelerates in order to cool the lamp progressively. The temperature of the lamp is 1000 degrees during projection. Disconnecting the projector during the projection provokes uneven cooling on the surface of the lamp, causing premature breakdown.
The breakdown of the lamp can be caused by a mechnical shock; the hot filament of the lamp is very fragile, always make sure that the projector is off and the lamp is cooled before moving the projetor.
"Economy" mode: if your projector is equipped with a high/low switch, you can lengthen the lifespan of the lamp by putting it on the low position. The luminosity will be lower as a result.
Finally, it is recommended that you clean the projector's air filters. If they are blocked by dust, they slow the ventilation of the lamp and provoke overheating.
